General questions:
Q. How fast will the boards go?
A. The boards speeds differ so you’ll have to check out the Specs on the individual boards. But our fastest board is the Ultimate X800 Off roader which has a top speed of 35KPH and can be found
here.
Q. How far do the boards go on a single charge?
A. Up to 30km, depending on the model, rider weight and usage. Remember the boards batteries will usually need to go through a few cycles (drain-charge) before they reach their maximum capacity.
Q. How do they work?
A. Our wireless electric skateboards are powered by a either a 24V or 36V electric motor using lead acid sealed batteries. The boards are controlled by a small, wireless handheld trigger controller that makes braking and accelerating extremely easy. All you have to do to accelerate is pull on the trigger (slowly!) and push it back to brake. The brakes are an ABS style regenerative system, when you push the trigger forward the motor applies resistance to the motor slowing the board down. This makes going down the steepest of hills a piece of cake, and don’t forget you can cruise right back up them.
Q. How much do they cost?
A. Too lazy to look at the actual boards? Right, well our boards range from £149.99 for the children’s model to £449.99 for our absolute monster the Ultimate X800 Off roader. You can check out the products section
here.
Q. Where can I ride them?
A. All boards are suitable for riding on dry, flat surfaces such as tarmac or concrete. The Ultimate X800 Off roader can be taken on most surfaces (not sand people, please be sensible..) but the boards must not be ridden in wet weather, this will absolutely void your warranty. As far as where they are legal to ride they are NOT legal to ride on a public highway in the UK, if outside of the UK you will have to do your own research. And as always people please be careful if you are riding them in public, SonicSkateboards.com LTD do not condone this behaviour but if you must go tearing up the streets have respect for other people and be careful.
Q. Are they noisy?
A. Absolutely not, the boards run as quietly as a mouse in cotton wool. Because they use an electric motor and not a petrol motor like some other boards on the market they are capable of reaching (and exceeding) the same speeds but staying nice and quiet. Shhh.
Q. How long do they take to charge?
A. 3-5 hours depending on usage and cycle.
Q. Do they have brakes?
A. Would we put you on a board that is capable of 35KPH and not slap some brakes on there somewhere? Of course not, we care about you and your safety and that’s why all of our boards are equipped with ABS style regenerative braking systems that will keep you in control. Simply push back on the wireless trigger to slow down.
Q. Can they go up hill?
A. Carving up hills? You cannot be serious. Well we are. So far people we here at SonicSkateboards.com LTD have not found a hill that our high end boards (400-800V) cant climb, however it can be a serious drain on the battery so please carve up the hills to reduce the strain on the battery.
Q. Are they hard to ride?
A. Even if you’ve never ridden a skateboard before it shouldn’t take more than about 5-10 mins before you’re up and away, the boards are longer and wider than your average skateboard, because of this they are far sturdier. This makes riding them a breeze, don’t forget there’s always that brake if you feel like your going a bit too fast.
Q. What is the minimum age?
A. This is entirely up to you but SonicSkateboards.com LTD recommends that no-one under the age of 12 uses the boards. All boards should not be used without adult supervision..
Q. Are the boards dangerous?
A. The boards, like any other extreme sports equipment do contain an inherent danger
when not used safely, please always wear the proper protective gear and ride safely.
Q. How do they turn?
A.
Just like a normal skateboard or snowboard, simply lean fin the direction you wish to turn.
Technical Questions:
Q. My board isn’t working and I want to fix it myself, can I do this?
A. You’re in luck; all our boards are built specifically to make fixing them child's play. You can order all parts from our website and just need a few allen keys and a screwdriver, which luckily comes as standrard with all our boards, lucky people. Please check out our guide to fixing the boards
here. If the link is down you can always email us
here.
Q. My board isn’t working and I want you to fix it, how do I do this?
